United Nations Prize in the Field of Human Rights 2008: support Miloon Kothari’s nomination!

The nominee, Miloon Kothari, has carried out pioneer work, for the past twenty years, on economic, social and cultural rights, especially the human rights to adequate housing and land, and protection from forced evictions and displacement.

Mr. Kothari has made significant contributions in the field of human rights, both as a civil society activist at local and national levels, and as the first UN Special Rapporteur on Adequate Housing with the UN Commission on Human Rights and the UN Human Rights Council. He has been working on many different levels in several countries at both grassroot and national levels. His work has also included linking local grassroots struggles/conditions/demands with the international human rights instruments and the UN system.

HIC wants to mobilize housing organizations to support the postulation of Miloon Kothari.
