Guiding Principles on security of tenure for the urban poor/ HRC session- 10 March 2014

The Special Rapporteur on adequate housing has been
mandated to provide practical guidance for the implementation of the right to
adequate housing. In the present report, she recommends a set of guiding
principles to assist States and other relevant actors in addressing the current
tenure insecurity crisis faced by the urban poor in an increasingly urbanized
world.

The report will be discussed Monday 10 March 2014,
when the Raporteur will have an interactive dialogue with the Human Rights Council
in Geneva.
