Dubai International Award for Best Practices to Improve the Living Environment

The Municipality of Dubai, UAE, and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), invite to submit ‘Best Practice’ for the 2004 Dubai International Award. The Award consists of a US$ 30,000 cash prize, a trophy and a certificate. Up to 10 awards are discerned every two years.

Best Practices are initiatives which are making outstanding contributions to improving the quality of life in cities and communities around the world. The original call for Best Practices was launched in 1995 during preparations for the 2nd United Nations Conference on Human Settlements (Habitat II) as a means of identifying what works in improving living conditions on a sustainable basis.

All qualifying submissions are recorded in the Best Practices database which currently contains over 1600 practices from 140 countries.
