A call for the immediate action:

We are Asian Civil Society Organizations working with poor communities in different parts of Asia . Our purpose is to dialogue with poor Asian families, support them in their struggle for gaining a voice in decisions, change their conditions of poverty, discrimination, violence, non-access to resources for daily survival, and nurture them as citizens of their respective countries.

We are saddened by the news about the twenty-three South Koreans abducted by the Taliban in Afghanistan . We understand that the abductees are all civilians involved in humanitarian work.

We join their families and friends in urging the Taliban leaders not to harm the Korean civilians and immediately release them.

We also join the rest of Asian communities and the international community committed to peace and harmony, in calling for all troops’ immediate withdrawal from Afghanistan .
